The Tourism Program is offered at a number of campuses across the state. Online and video conferencing facilities have been established throughout South Australia to enable students to participate in high quality education from remote locations.
At TAFE SA Adelaide City Campus, a simulated business has been established, where students learn and develop practical skills. This virtual enterprise, Experience SA, is modelled on the South Australian Tourism Commission’s Visitor Travel Centre, Adelaide; one of TAFE SA’s industry partners.
Experience SA replicates business practices by trading in a virtual economy, with the potential to trade with 110 Australian and 5,500 international virtual businesses.
Students undertake the role of the staff at Experience SA and develop an understanding of business processes by working in teams of the designated departments, within the simulated business. Students learn skills in making business decisions, examining successes and failures, problem solving, leadership and collaboration, negotiation and interaction, under the guidance of the highly qualified and skilled lecturers.
